Aquesta nit gaudirem de la cerimònia de l’Acadèmia del cinema estatunidenc. Vestits de gala, catifes vermelles, somriures, fotos... Tota la parafernàlia i glamur que omple el món de Hollywood. Uns diran que són els premis més importants de l’any cinematogràfic, altres que és la Palma d’Or a Canes. Són mons totalment diferents i cal entendre’ls com a tal. És cert que alguns films d’autor molt marcats pel to europeu han pogut entrar amb força, com The Zone of Interest o Anatomy of a Fall, favorites per algunes de les categories. També és molt destacable la importància del cinema espanyol, aquí representat per la popularíssima La sociedad de la nieve de Bayona i el Robot Dreams de Berger.
Tanmateix, moltes sorpreses haurien d’ocórrer perquè no fos la nova i més clàssica pel·lícula de Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer, la que s’alci com a principal guanyadora de la nit, líder en les apostes tant per molts dels premis tècnics com dels principals de la cerimònia. La sorprenent irrupció de Poor Things de Lanthimos la situa com a clara rival, mentre que el mestre Scorsese i el seu Killers of the Flower Moon resta com en la majoria d’obres del director: gran candidata en moltes de les categories, però sempre amb una competidora més forta (almenys pel que fa a campanya). Mentrestant, la resta de pel·lícules de renom, Barbie, The Holdovers, American Fiction, Maestro, Past Lives... passen a un segon pla en gran part de les categories.
Si bé no es pot mesurar l’any cinematogràfic sols per l’aquí representat (queden fora peces excepcionals com Cerrar los ojos, Creatura, pràcticament tota May December, Cuando acecha la maldad, Ferrari, The Bastard, The Killer, Fallen Leaves...), és cert que bona part de les principals nominades són grans films i alguns d’ells obres mestres, deixant marcat el gran any cinematogràfic que hem pogut viure.

Passem, ara sí, a repassar les nominades de les principals categories de la nit, ordenades de major a menor favoritisme, marcada en negreta la principal candidata i subratllada la favorita d’aquesta casa.
